| He isn't a missing member, but he's be welcome....just passed by CMT on tv...they were showing Kurt Busch's crib...anyway he has a kick butt 64 beetle among his collection ....said it was his first car...imagine a nascar star starting out driving a bug .... he and his father restored it..wow what a nice car!!! Ha i need to get in touch with him...that would be a nice addition to the Mooresville cruise-in |

Man, and here i thought i would be on that list too lol....
No folks, i am still here, just kinda drifted away from the hobby for a bit. Needed a break to get some fresh ideas, but now i'm gonna try and get back there.
Sad thing is, my 66 Beetle is Bugsted, thanks to my lousy attempt at drag racing (moved two feet off the starting line and snapped an axle ), and right now the ole girl is half tore apart.
I also picked up another VW just to drive when i'm not tinkering with the Beetle; an 82 Rabbit cabrio. But even that has it's problems sadly (never fails right ).
Anyway, it's good to see this place is still around. Looks like i've got some catching up to do _________________ vwfan4life Ron Daman MAM Refugee 1968 Type 1 Sedan - Midnite Thunder - Rest in Peace Little one, you will be missed 1966 Type 1 Sedan - The Green Hornet - Ok, i've had my beauty rest; now when we going out for a drive! |

I think if you still post here now and then, you are not a past member. Don't take it so personal. Laugh at yourself now and then. JT _________________ “Life is sexually transmitted“

I don't know. I'm driving a watercool VR6 powered VW and FFS it doesn't seem to fit in here.
It got to the point that I couldn't afford to repair my Van or the Super Beetle. I had to economize.
A machinist friend of mine expressed an interest in both the cars and he's owned a bunch of VWs over the past and we had long conversations about bugs, engines et al.
So I signed the titles over to him. They are off to a good home and he has a mess of spare parts and they'll be on the road eventually.
That's back to me owning a WATER COOLED VW.
HEy it's a camper... a Winnebago conversion. That and they don't make them anymore.
I don't feel like I went to the enemy camp.
Honestly I had a choice between buying another camper, a Diesel Westfalia Vanagon or a 31' sailboat.
I bought the sailboat.
It's truely airpowered and yes there is freedom and adventure to be had with a VW camper but sailing is a new dimension. _________________ Don't ever admit you sold your bug.

| From being gone for a little over 5 years, I'd have figured I would be considered a 'past' member. |

You need therapy. I offered a hug, but you are beyond that! If you don't lighten up, you'll end up in a home somewhere. Nobody cares if you drive air or water or the shoe-leather express. |
