Re: A day in the life...
i did a thing, but it didn't go as planned, but it's done. i was originally trying to just make the center one, but wrecked the screen and built the third one. then got another one to make the second one. anyway, my back lit Game Boy saga has come to an end. so now i have 2 options to play Game Boy in the dark.
left: stock OG iv had for over 30 years.
center: LED back lit original screen, bivert mod, clear case, clear upgraded speaker, glass screen protector, buttons, new button pads, blue start/select buttons.
right: original yellow corrected case, LCD screen, light blue glass screen protector, neon blue buttons and power switch, (not shown) clear battery door. new OEM style speaker.

Those are nifty. Some of the channels I follow restore and mod them. I've never owned one myself but always thought they were neat.

Re: A day in the life...
the LCD screen one was super easy to build. it basically drops in. i had to cut 2 screw studs and an idk what to call it off the inside of the case to give the screen room to fit. attach 2 ribbon cables, and solder 2 wires to the board for the speaker and assemble it. it goes right together.
im going to be cracking that one back open in a few weeks. i should have replaced the battery contacts cause they were corroded (assuming battery acid at some point in it's life) and i want to replace the button pads. i used the originals in that one (used new ones in the clear case) and i have to hit the buttons harder than id like. easy fixes i can do for no joke $5.
